NDMA has planned to organized a 3 days National Level Exhibition &
Conference – “Pakistan Expo on Disaster Risk Reduction 2023” from
12-14 July 2023 at Pak-China Centre, Islamabad to entrust relevant
stakeholders under one roof to collaborate, contribute and innovate on
DRR solutions, as part of pre-disaster preparedness stage.
Pakistan is grappling with unprecedented disasters caused by rising global
temperatures, climate change volatility, and human activities. In the last decade
alone, the country has experienced two major floods (in 2010 and 2022) resulting
in significant losses. As a result, NDMA has adopted a paradigm shift from reactive
to proactive approach with following major interferences/lessons learnt:
